Bloodwork for Baby

Bloodwork to calculate my levels and determine my risk level and how far along the pregnancy is was this morning. It took forever. First the lab was busy, so we waited to get to admissions, then they said they did not have my paperwork and we would have to wait until the doctor's office opened (in 40 minutes), then I called the office when they opened to get them to rush the fax script over, then we had to wait for the fax to come, then we had to wait for the nurse to come available to see us, then wait for a room to be open, and then they finally took the blood (1 vial). It took a few to get the vial because my veins were not cooperating and because of my fainting possibility, so the technician laid me down and tried to get a vein in either arm. She gave up with my left and went back to my right and finally got it to appear. I was suppose to go into work, but there is nothing for me to do and I am not supposed to be in the BL-3 in my condition, so I am home chilling. The doctor's office should get my results in another hour and then hopefully they will call with the results since it was labelled STAT and we will go from there. I am beginning to get excited, but know if this does not work out, at least we can be preparing for the next go round.

We have Pink!

So, as you can probably guess or see from the above bars, I took a pregnancy test this past Friday and it came back positive. It is still early to tell if this is a legit. prenancy or if I will be even able to maintain it. This morning I went for my bloodwork so my doctor can see my levels and determine how far along I am and how much of a risk I am. I understand we are lucky to have gotten this result so early in our TTC journey, so we are both still very cautious to believe it. I am keeping my pregnancy, TTC and the like seperate of this blog. If you wish to follow those trials and tribulations, please message me and I will send you a link. Thanks for all the continued support and private messages.

We have Pink?

Ok, so maybe I was a bit overzealous and tested early, because this morning I took another test and it came up with 2 pink lines (the second line got darker after the 3 minute wait, but this time there were 2 lines right off the bat). Only problem with this is that it seems the test was a bit old (i.e. it had 1/2010 on the packaging). I will just have to test again tomorrow morning,....or maybe in a few hours.

Fingers crossed this is for real.

1st cycle-Fail?

So tested Monday since that was when my ticker told me to test, and negative. I was not holding my hopes up for us to be lucky to have a positive first time around, but still bummed a bit. AF should visit by Friday...I think I will test again Friday just to double check. I have a feeling I may have super low hormone levels and a HPT may not be good early. Fingers still crossed, otherwise there is always next month.

New Year's Resolutions

I am not a big fan or follower of making New Year's Resolutions, but I hope in this next year a lot of things begin to fall into place. We are working on my home improvements and hopefully we will get through all of them, but especially the guest bathroom remodel, the back office renovations and finish hanging all the trim. I came home to a surprise last night. Husby decided he was going to make these half moon to help divide the living room and the hallway and also between the kitchen and the back room. It looks good, except it is currently Styrofoam, but it'll look good at the end. We already got rid of the "window" that was between the kitchen and backroom and I decided we will probably paint that wall in the backroom a lighter blue to give the room some more calming feel (especially since that will become my office once we start a family). Things around the house are coming together well. I wish we could get the kitchen fully remodeled this year, but I am not sure it will be possible, but still it is my goal.

I also hope to get back into my working out groove and drop some pounds. We already started eating healthier...more salads, less McDonald's, and I think I may start pushing myself to go back to jogging as early as this weekend, but it all depends on the shoulder. With healthier eating, I have been religiously taking all my prenatal vitamins and hoping with the C. we will also start our family this year. Lastly, I am goaled to finish my Master's this year as well...hopefully in the Fall, but maybe a bit sooner depending on my schedule.

We have a lot of goals and dreams this year. Hopefully 2010 is better than 2009!
