17 weeks and sailing smooth

Real quick post to update on development. We had our OB appointment on Tuesday. Baby G sounds good on the doppler still...heartbeat was in the 130-140 range. I am having no other side effects or symptoms, other than a head cold which is likely due to my seasonal allergies. We had the normal pee test, and blood pressure check at the office as well and then they did a Penta blood scan to rule out a majority of the chromosomal abnormality diseases (cleft palate, missing limb, etc.). Then they scheduled my "big" ultrasound for May 4th (right before we visit my mom for Mother's Day). As long as the baby cooperates, we will know the sex then. Next followup appointment with the OB is 2 weeks after that.

Things in the house are doing good. Hubby has been diligently working on the kitchen and got the first wall of cabinets up. By doing that we were able to clear out a lot of the guest bedroom storage of tupperware, and wedding gifts since we finally have cabinet space in the kitchen. We also freed up a lot of counter space. He is taking a break from the kitchen to now focus on the nursery and any other small project around the house (touch-up painting spots, replacing old trim/baseboards, etc.). Painting in the nursery is complete. He also was able to get up all of the molding around the ceiling and it all looks great. Pictures to come in a later post.

Grad school is going well. I feel swamped, but the weekends is always when I get caught up. Work at the lab is busy right now because we are in the middle of a project, but it is work and still looking forward to a break. Teaching is coming to an end. This week is finals week, so I am done after tomorrow! Two weeks to relax and breathe and then back for 6 weeks of teaching Summer 1 session.

Here is Baby G's report for the week:
